PBS: They Call Me Superman

PBS SoCal approached Media Button to buy this short documentary as part of their promotional materials in the build up to releasing “Muhammed Ali”. Our story follows an inspiring story of a California-based coach.

For some amateur boxers in Los Angeles, boxing is more than just a workout; it’s survival. Meet Superman, a coach at Wild Card Boxing Gym – and Shay, one of the boxers he works with. Superman draws from his own life experiences; struggling with homelessness and poverty – to guide his boxers through turbulent times. For individuals like Shay, Superman is a lifeline.

A small Media Button team followed the two characters on location in Los Angeles, and completed the post-production in incredible time to meet PBS’ fast moving timeline.
